GODWIN -- Lloyd Gregory "Greg" Ward, 49, 704 Martin Road, died Tuesday morning in a motor vehicle accident.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Bostian officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Born in Whiteville, he was the son of Carol Ward of Whiteville and the late Lloyd G. Ward.

He loved his job as a truck driver, hunting, fishing and life in general. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his mother, Greg is survived by his wife, Linda Ward; three sons, Greg Wagner of Panama City, Fla., Timothy Wagner of Cave Junction, Ore., and Jerry Chandler of Goldsboro; three daughters, Melissa Ward of the home, Nikki Ward of the home and Jessica Sibbett of Whiteville; one brother, Chuck Arnold of Goldsboro; one sister, Cherlene Ward of Huntersville; three grandchildren, Brooke Ward of Cave Junction, Ore., Joanna Welch of Whiteville and Austin Chandler of Goldsboro; and his father and mother-in-law, Steve and Maggie Gooding of Goldsboro.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Ward.
