JOSEPH ROBINSON

LUMBERTON -- Joseph Robinson 67, 22 Sellers Drive, was born Oct. 15, 1942, in Washington D.C., to the late Bernice and Joseph Robinson Sr. He transitioned from labor to reward Oct. 22 at his residence with his family by his side.

Celebration of life services will be held Saturday at noon at Cromartie Temple of Praise, with Dr. Syvalla Washington officiating. He will be laid to rest in Maranatha Gardens in Fairmont.

Joseph was educated in the public schools of Washington D.C.

"Joe," as he was affectionately known by many, was a roofer, carpenter, brick mason and mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, car shows, repairing cars and working around the house.

Joseph was a devoted husband, father and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his wife, Letha Mae Robinson of Lumberton; one daughter, Joletha "Jodi" Robinson of Lumberton; six sons, Vernon Armstead and Michael Robinson both of Washington DC, Laverne Sinclair of Charlotte, Joseph "Joey" Sinclair and Marcus Sinclair both of Moneta, Va., and Johnny "Allen" Sinclair of Lumberton; stepfather, John Martin of Virginia; two sisters, Jackie Robinson and Vickie Martin both of Washington DC; two brothers, Ronnie Robinson (Janice) and Jerome Martin both of Washington DC; several grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Corie Sinclair; and sister, Laverne Anthony.

Visitation for Mr. Robinson will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cromartie Temple of Praise, 106 Lesane St. in Lumberton.

All expressions of love through floral arrangements can be delivered to Cromartie Temple of Praise Church Friday between the hours of 1 and 8 p.m. Other expressions of sympathy through e-mails or faxes should be forwarded to emmatthewsfuneralhome.com or 735-2775.

Mr. Robinson's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E. M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Inc. where the Robinson family is receiving caring and compassionate service.
