Helen Battle, 97, formerly of Countryside Assisted Living in Pikeville, took the master's hand and entered Heavenly rest Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Her life and legacy will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of McIntyre Funeral Home, with her pastor, Bishop Alton A Smith, officiating. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest in Old Mill Cemetery.
She leaves precious and sacred memories to two loving nieces, Mary Mewborn and Ruby Smith, both of Goldsboro.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St. in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends at 104 Sasser Drive in Goldsboro, where they will also assemble for the funeral processional.
