Pearl Wiggs Mayo, 83, a resident of The Pines of Goldsboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St. in Fremont, with visitation afterward. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Rains Crossroads Church Cemetery in Kenly. The family will receive friends other times at the home of Judy and Marion Wilkins, 378 Princeton Road in Princeton.

Mrs. Mayo was born Sept. 28, 1925, to the late George Nathan Wiggs Sr. and Lillie Catherine Turner Wiggs. She was the widow of Charles W. Mayo.

She was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Fremont.

She is survived by three daughters, Judy Wilkins and husband, Marion, of Princeton, Denise Clark and husband, Michael, of Central, S.C., and Katrina Painter of Rosewood; one sister, Lessie Pope of Raleigh; one brother, George Nathan Wiggs and wife, Dottie, of West Chester, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Mayo, and numerous siblings.
