IRA W. BECKERT

Retired Senior Master Sgt. Ira Wescott Beckert, 66, Christopher Drive, passed away Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with full military honors.
Mr. Beckert was the son of the late Melvin and Hazel Forton Beckert, born in Macomb County, Mich., Aug. 30, 1942.
He was retired from the United States Air Force where he received the rank of Senior Master Sgt. and was a decorated Vietnam veteran.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eunice Ann Beckert; one son, Mark W. Beckert of New Bern; daughter-in-law, Donna Beckert of Goldsboro; one daughter, Deanna Lessard and husband, Gary, of Hickory; two brothers, Marvin Beckert and wife, Janet, of West Virginia and Larry Beckert and wife, Faye, of Michigan; and six grandchildren, Blake and Brandon Lessard, Brittany Ingram, Amanda, Elizabeth and Carrie Ann Beckert.
The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the residence.
