MARIE B. EZZELL

Marie Carroll Bonham Ezzell, 88, passed away Friday at Wake Medical Center surrounded by her family.

A service to celebrate her life will be held today at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Inter-ment will be Monday at 3 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Marie was born in Duplin County to the late Ernest King Bonham and Sally Estelle Brinson Bonham. She was married to the late Nathaniel Jack Ezzell. Marie had worked as a bookkeeper for many years and had also worked as a foster grandparent with Howell's Child Care. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Marie was a loving and sweet mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Linda F. Brock and Betty Carroll Moore; her son, N. Jack Ezzell Jr. and wife, Diane; her grandchildren, Joan and Curtis Stafford, Debbie Jones, Lynn and Ben Strickland, Tony Jones, Valynda Moore, Marquitta and Joey Ingram and Shownell Ezzell; her great-grandchildren, Christy Stafford, Kaitlyn Stafford, Steven Jones, Dana Jones, Taylor Strickland, Brock Strickland, Sidney Ingram, Morgan Ingram and Cade Ezzell; her brothers, Bobby Bonham and wife, Marge, Billy Bonham and wife, Delores, and Charles Bonham and wife, Rebecca; her sister, Virginia Jones; many nieces and nephews; and her special friends at Pinewood Beach Bingo. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Alice Ezzell, Aline Lavin and Annette Thayer.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Willie Bonham and her sisters, Nellie Mae Baker, Jessie Garland Heath, Margaret Louise Pealock and Ruby Evelyn Sasser.

The family will receive friends today from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral home and other times at the home of Linda Brock, 192 Heritage Road, Pikeville.
