MOUNT OLIVE -- Inez Buckrham Coley, 84, 309 Hemlock St., was peacefully escorted by the angels to her eternal rest Wednesday morning at Mount Olive Rehabilitation Center.

Eulogistic services will be conducted Monday at noon at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. A. Mumford officiating. She will be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial Park.

Inez was born in Greene County to the late Henry Lee and Maccie Baker Buckrham.

She attended Wayne County public schools and retired as an LPN from Cherry Hospital with more than 30 years of dedicated service.

Fond memories will be cherished by two daughters, Linda Carlton (William) of Roswell, Ga., and Robin Cobb (Fletcher) of Washington, D.C.; two sons, Alvin Coley (Helen) of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Henry Coley of the home; one special niece, Rosa Coley Thompson, whom she reared; one sister, Thelma Buckrham Bell of Goldsboro; one sister-in-law, Eloise Battle of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel "Nate" Coley, two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries of Goldsboro.

Mrs. Coley's remains will lie in state at the church with the family present to receive friends Monday from 11 a.m. to noon.

The family will receive friends at other times at the residence, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
