FAISON -- Audrey Byrd Coley, 82, 386 McGowan Road, surrounded by her family, went home to Heaven Sunday.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Royal Hall Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Reynolds Smith and the Rev. Buster Price officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro Thursday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jimmy Whitfield and the Rev. Reynolds Smith officiating.

Born in Sampson County May 11, 1927, Mrs. Coley was the daughter of the late James and Thelma Willis Byrd.

Audrey was a faithful member of Bethlehem Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James Elton Coley; four daughters, Sue Davis and husband, Larry, of Goldsboro, Peggy Coley of Warsaw, Ann Kelly and husband, Gary, of Mount Olive and Ruth Carter and husband, Henry, of Faison; one son, Jimmy Coley and wife, Sherri, of Mount Olive; son-in-law, Leslie Jernigan of Clayton; one sister, Nancy Lancaster and husband, Elbert, of Panama City Beach, Fla.; eight granddaughters, Nikki Ennis, Rebekah Nassef, Melissa Lewis, Ashley Stevens, Brooke Whitfield, Stacy Hadzijahic, Brittney Coley and Jenny Coley; and five great-grandchildren, Lexi and Gage Lewis, Ben Nassef, Perri Caroline and Palmer Ennis.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at her residence.
