LARRY RAY KORNEGAY SR.

Larry Ray Kornegay Sr., 53, passed away Friday morning at his home.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at New Hope Church of God with the Rev. Harold Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Larry was born in Wayne County on Aug. 9, 1956, to Rosa Bass Kornegay of Pikeville and the late James Henry Kornegay. He worked as a maintenance supervisor with Eastern Correctional Center. Larry had attended The First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Goldsboro. He was a cancer patient at Leo Jenkins in Greenville and the family would like to give a special thanks to all of his doctors and employees of Leo Jenkins.

In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his wife of 35 years, Gloria Bryan Kornegay; his son, Larry Ray Kornegay Jr. and wife, Sheelagh, of Louisburg; his daughter, Christy K. House and husband, Sherwood, of Roseboro; his brothers, Tommy Kornegay and wife, Ester, of Cleveland, Ohio, James Kornegay Jr. of Pikeville and Jimmy Kornegay and wife, Claudia, of LaGrange; his sister, Linnie Kearney and husband, Lynwood, of Dudley; his grandchildren, Samantha House, Bryan House, and James Dylan House; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Kornegay.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home 203 Krystal Circle, Goldsboro.
