Wilbert Odom, 61, passed away Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chuck Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Wilbert was born in Wayne County July 2, 1948, to Eliza Wells Odom of Goldsboro and the late Charlie Bryant Odom.

He was employed as a local truck driver and had served his country in the United States Army.

Wilbert is survived by his wife, Ida Budd Odom; his sons, Alvin Odom and wife, Heather, of Pikeville and Bill Odom and wife, Danielle, of Kenly; his stepdaughter, Tammy Tew and husband, Troy, of High Point; his sister, Phyllis Braswell of Florida; his brothers, Royce Odom of Goldsboro, Rodney Odom of Goldsboro, Roland Odom of Atlanta, Ga., and Robert Odom of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and six grandchildren, Kennedy and Savannah Odom, Kendall Odom, Corey Hudgins, Ethan Tew and Macey Tew.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at 1410 Claridge Nursery Road, Goldsboro.
