CELINA, Texas -- Shirley Rudy, 87 passed away July 22 in Celina, Texas.
She was born Nov. 7, 1921, in Magnolia to Ellie and Annie (Williams) Pope.
Oct. 5, 1942, in Duplin County, she married Harold J. Rudy.
Shirley retired as a machine operator for General Electric after about 30 years in Goldsboro.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Rudy Rose and husband, Paul, of The Colony, Texas, Gail Burr and husband, Terry, of Celina, Texas, Dawn Rudy of Beaverton, Ore.; grandchildren, Paul C. Rose III, Selena Rose Dewey, Bryan Price, Jennifer Mitchell Norman, David Eugene Norman Jr., Amanda Rose Rudolph and Walter Bump III; five great-grandchildren; brother, Bromley R. Pope; sisters, Merle Pope Thornton, Faye Pope Finger and Elma Pope Drew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Dennis Pope.
