GREENVILLE -- Leavy Brock Sr., 80, died Tuesday.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Wilkerson Funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Brock, a native of Robeson County, had been a resident of Greenville since 1969.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served during the Korean Conflict. He was a recruiter for the Air Force retiring in 1975, after 24 years of service.
From 1975 to 1999 he was employed with the city
of Greenville as
sanitation superintendent before becoming purchasing manager.
He was a member of the Greenville Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Mozingo Brock; sons, Leavy Brock Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Greenville, Clayton Eugene Brock and wife, Bessie, of Winterville, and Tim W. Brock and wife, Erin, of Lewisville; grandchildren, Lyndsey Brock and fiancé, William Best, Hunter Little and wife, Jenna, and Ethan Cole Brock; sister, Stella Baxley, of Lumberton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters and seven brothers.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
