Edna Jinnette Price, 90, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Rudy Peedin and the Rev. Vernon Brown officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. Family members will greet friends immediately following the funeral service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Carol Price, 126 Hollybrook Lane, Dudley.
Born in Norfolk, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry Carl and Esther Ball Jinnette and wife of the late Major Benjamin "M.B." Price. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jan B. Price Jr. A member of Providence United Methodist Church, she was a charter member of the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Price is survived by her sons, Jan B. Price and wife, Judy, of Apex, Ben C. Price and wife, Connie, of Dudley; her daughter, Carol P. Price and husband, Gerald, of Dudley; a sister, Doris Jinnette Humphries of Dudley; six grandchildren, John E. Price and wife, Tawyna, of Willow Springs, Jodie Price Martin and husband, Kevin, of Apex, Bennie Price of Dudley, David Price and wife, Wendy, of Greenville, Scott Price of Raleigh; and his special friend, Jillian Poore of Raleigh; Joshua F. Price of Goldsboro and his fiancée, Cindy Lewis of Goldsboro; two great-grandchildren, Austin Martin of Apex and Tarea Grantham of Willow Springs.
