THE REV. LORAN M. OUTLAW

DEEP RUN -- The Rev. Loran M. Outlaw, 78, 2887 Gray Branch Church Road, died early Thursday at his home.

Services will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with the Revs. Elbert and Juanita Hollowell officiating. Committal and interment will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Maplewood in Mount Olive.

Mr. Outlaw was the son of the late Torrence and Bessie Jernigan Outlaw.

He was a retired carpenter and builder. He was a longtime member of the Cricket Ridge Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and was also a retired Free Will Holiness minister.

Among his survivors are his wife, Edith Anderson Outlaw of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl Ray and Rebecca Outlaw of Mount Olive; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Gerald Smith of Deep Run and Linda and Jeff Davis of Seven Springs; five grandchildren, Pam Cannon, Beverly Pope, Linwood Cherry Jr., Carl Ray Outlaw Jr. and Kenneth Wayne Outlaw; three stepgrandchildren, Michelle Verheghe, Melanie Gaskins and Michael Smith; seven great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl, Norman, and Gordon Outlaw, along with several infant siblings.

The family will remain at the funeral home following tonight's service to receive friends.

At other times, they will be at the residence.
