MAGGIE M. TYSON

April 17, 1921 - May 12, 2009

Maggie Mozelle Hensley Tyson, 88, of 177 Hinnant Road in Pikeville, died Tuesday at her residence.

Born in Orange County, she was the daughter of the late James Walter and Cora Elizabeth Dixon Hensley and wife of the late Norman Tyson.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jetter Hensley, and her sister, Hallie Forbis.

Ms. Tyson attended the Faith Free Will Baptist Church and the Patetown Church of God.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Christian Powell officiating. Burial will follow at the Pikeville Cemetery.

Ms. Tyson is survived by two daughters and sons-in- law, Norma and Gary Savage of Goldsboro, Margaret and Charles Strickland of Pikeville; one sister, Minnie Coniglio of Greensboro; a sister-in-law, Ferle Hensley of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Wayne and Cindy Goss, Tim and Gayle Goss, Michelle Brown, Larry Strickland, Kimberly and Glenn Rowe; and seven great-grandchildren, Vincent Brown, Alexis Brown, Brittany Goss, Taylor Goss, Justin Rowe, Matthew Rowe and Jessica Goss.

Family members will greet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Norma Savage, 213 Leslie Road, Goldsboro.
