EDNA L. SMITH

Edna Langston Smith, 87, died Tuesday morning at the Brian Center.
Funeral services will be held tonight at 7:30 at United in Christ Church, with the Rev. Ira Williford and the Rev. Dr. Don Sauls officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
Edna was born in Wayne County April 23, 1922, to the late Henry Langston and Vadie Pilkington Langston. She was married to the late Jimmie Smith.
Edna was a member of United in Christ Church.
Edna is survived by her son, Paul, and wife Mary Ann Smith of LaGrange; her daughters, Faye and husband, Kenneth Howell, of Pikeville and Dr. Pauline West of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Jimmy Cassady, William Cassady and wife, Dee Dee, Jerry Howell and wife, Julie, Debbie Brown and husband, William, Beverly Smith and Cindy Cassady; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home of her daughter, Faye and Kenneth Howell, 102 Hilton Place, Pikeville.
