C. DOUGLAS AYCOCK

SEVEN LAKES -- C. Douglas Aycock, 64, 124 Carriage Park Drive, Seven Lakes West, West End, died Tuesday at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A memorial service will be held Friday at Pinehurst United Methodist Church, 4111 Airport Road in Pinehurst. The family will receive friends at the home as well as at the visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Boles Funeral Home, 35 Parker Lane, Pinehurst. Burial will be private.

He was the son of Mildred Scott Aycock and the late Elton O. Aycock of Goldsboro.

A native of Wayne County, he was a graduate of Brogden High School and Wake Forest University. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the United States Army as a captain in the Quartermaster Corps. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

His career in the textile industry spanned from 1972 until the present, where he was vice president of Manufacturing at Gulistan Carpet in Aberdeen since 1996 and was previously with Fieldcrest Canon, Karastan Bigelow and Mohawk Industries.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Linda Casey Aycock; two sons, Gary Patrick Aycock and wife, Emily, of Laurinburg and Randall Scott Aycock and wife, Robin, of Birmingham, Ala.; two grandchildren, Emma Grace Aycock and Aaron Douglas Aycock of Laurinburg; brothers, Elton F. Aycock, George A. Aycock and T. Eugene Aycock, all of Goldsboro; and sister, Beverly Aycock Ricks of Oak Island.
