LOIS B. JACKSON

May 24, 1928-April 17, 2009

FREMONT -- Lois Bass Jackson, 80, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday at Britthaven Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be today at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Sauls and the Rev. Pete Bass officiating. Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Sauls Family Cemetery.

Lois was born in Wayne County on May 24, 1928 to the late Lloyd Bass and Thelma McLawhorn Heath. She was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. Lois was a member of Mount Nelson Missionary Baptist Church.

Lois is survived by her husband, Gurman Ralph Jackson; her daughters, Judith O. Jackson and husband, Gerald, of Wilson and Yvonne J. Sauls and husband, Richard, of Fremont; her son, Keith Jackson and wife, Nina, of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, David Jackson, Stephanie Bridgers, Timothy Jackson and Rachel Jackson; and a great-grandson, Landon Bridgers. She is also survived by her sister, Alice Bass Jackson of Goldsboro; her half brother, Anthony Bass of Kinston; and her daughter-in-law, Peggy Jackson of Goldsboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Ralph Jackson.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Mount Nelson Missionary Baptist Church, 206 W. Main St., Eureka, N.C. 27830.

The family will greet friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home, 761-B Reidtown Road, Fremont.
