SADIE B.B. BENNETT

Nov. 17, 1920-March 19, 2009

Sadie Bell Bowden Bennett was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Wayne County, N.C., to the late Minnie Best Bowden and the late Richard Bowden. God called her home March 19; her work here has been completed.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Ernest Bennett; one daughter, Deborah Bennett; her parents, Richard and Minnie Bowden; three brothers, John Henry Bowden, Edward Bowden and Eddie Wayne Bowden; and two sisters, Josephine Bowden Hubbard and Celia Ruth Smith. Another sister, Ethel Bowden Lofton, died March 20, 2009.

Left to cherish her loving memories are her children, Doris Yates (Hobert) of O'Fallon, Ill., Bobby Bennett (Elizabeth) of Adelphi, Md., Coris Bennett of Woodbridge, Va., Kenneth Bennett (Shirley) of Alexandria, Va., Stanley Bennett of Hollywood, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at noon at Bear Creek Association Headquarters, with Pastor Antonio Blow and Pastor E.T. Coston officiating. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Park in Mount Olive.

Visitation will be Monday from 2:30 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends during the wake Monday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Mount Olive. They will receive friends at other times at the residence, 702 S. Church St., Mount Olive. The family will assemble at 305 Brogden St., Dudley, in preparation for the funeral procession.
