NELSON W. WILLIAMS

Nelson W. "Wayne" Williams, 49, of 112 Purple Iris Drive, Pikeville, died Tuesday night at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Clary Curtis Williams and Dora Mae Jackson Holland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepbrother, Gary Holland. A member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, he was the previous owner and operator of Williams Used Appliances. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Funeral services were Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Faith Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dann Patrick and the Rev. Ira Willford officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly L. Williams; a daughter, Katrina Williams, of the home; two brothers, Curtis Ray Wiliams, of Dahlonega, Ga.., Johnny Williams of Goldsboro; a special friend, Chandra Chase of Pikeville; his stepfather, Rondall Holland of Pikeville; three stepbrothers; and two stepsisters.

Family members received friends Friday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
