IRMON, S.C. -- Vickie Simmons Edmonson, formerly of Goldsboro, died Sunday in Raleigh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas H. Edmonson Jr.; and her parents, Willie and Mary Frances Ward Simmons.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Ambassador Christ Center, 401 Western Lane Suite.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Huey Edmonson II of the home; a sister, Willie Carol Roberts of Greenville; a nephew, Matthew Roberts of Greenville; three aunts, Ernestine W. Bostic of Goldsboro, Esther W. Salters of Beverly Hill, Fla., and Hazel W. Wooten of Marietta, Ga.; six uncles, Joseph Simmons of Washington, D. C., James Simmons of Newark, N.J., Sterling Ward of Goldsboro, Willie Ward of Philadelphia, Pa., and Richard Ward and James Ward, both of Raleigh.
Palmer Memorial Chapel, 1200 Fontaine Place, Columbia, S.C., is handling the arrangements.
