PRINCETON - D.R. Howell, 82, of the Oakland Church Community, died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mr. Howell was born in Wayne County on Nov. 5,1923 to the late David and Sudie Games Howell. He was married to the late Margaret Rowe Howell. Mr. Howell was a retired healthcare technician at O'Berry Center and was also a retired farmer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lewis Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Howell is survived by his daughter; Sue Howell and husband, Johnny, of Princeton; three sons, Garry Howell and wife, Kaye, of Pikeville, Jerry Howell and wife, Vickie, of Goldsboro; and Donald Howell and wife, Mary Ann, of Pikeville; a sister, Katie Anderson of Princeton; five grandchildren, Denise Clark and husband, Richard, Clint Howell, Jennifer Howell, Haley Howell and Jimmie Paul Bell; and two great-grandsons, Joshua and Jonah Clark.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, 27534.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Jerry and Vickie Howell, 2032 Old Smithfield Road, Goldsboro.
