DURHAM - Charles Kingsford Jones, 68, 2418 Landis Drive, died at Durham Regional Hospital on Wednesday.

Mr. Jones was a native of Johnston County and had lived in Durham since 1972. He served in the U.S. National Guard and was Scout Master of Clayton.

After retiring from Electrolux in 1980 he was founder and President of Kingsford Vinyl Siding and Windows. He attended the United Pentecostal Church of Goldsboro and was a Mason in the Smithfield Lodge. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his father, Dock Watson Jones.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel with pastor David Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Markham Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be his sons.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Tyner Jones; his mother, Carletta Creech Jones; two sons, Kevin Jones and wife, Julie, of Rougemont, Chris Jones and wife, Sarah, of Durham; two daughters, Kizzie D. Campos and husband, Joe, of Mebane, Veronica A. Riggs and husband, John B., of Bahama; two brothers, Dock W. Jones, Jr. and wife, Shelby, of Palmer, AK, Lloyd Douglas Jones and wife, Josephine, of Garner; grandchildren, Heather Riggs, Candace Ashley Snow, Charles Sterling Riggs, Amber Annette Riggs, Allison Bailey Jones, Jamie Brooke Jones, Dallas Kevin Jones, Ashleigh Jane Jones, Melinda Ann Jones, Gracie Elizabeth Jones and Christian Cruz Campos.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2419 Landis Drive. Flowers are acceptable.
