MYRLE P. HILL

Myrle Parks Hill, 78, of 423 Woodland Church Road, died Wednesday morning at her home. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late, Wilbur and Luna Garris Lane. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Sanderson; two grandsons, Jamie and Jason Callan; and a great granddaughter, Jordan Callan. Mrs. Hill graduated from Seven Springs High School at the age of 15 and was formerly employed as head teller with First Citizens Bank and was the former bookkeeper for Oak Manor Nursing Home.

Private graveside services will be held at Wayne Memorial Park, with pastor Al Thompson officiating.

Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband, Earl Hill; her children, Ann P. Callan and her husband, Thomas, of Goldsboro; John Dale Parks of Chapel Hill; Sharon H. Harrell of Dudley; Joseph Dean Hill of Raleigh; three brothers, Kenneth and Max Lane, both of LaGrange, J.W. Lane of Goldsboro; three sisters, Joyce L. Mansfield and Janice Nation of LaGrange and Faith Lancaster of Goldsboro; three grandchildren; Lisa C. Edmundson and her husband, Robbie, David and Daniel Harrell; and two great-grandchildren; Brandon Edmundson and Cassidy Callan.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate Faulk Funeral Home at other times at the home.
