MAMIE J. FORREST

Mamie Jean Vester Forrest, 68, of 2637 U.S. Highway 13 North, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Ruth Stanley Vester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Kelly Forrest, and a daughter, Pamela Jo Forrest. She attended The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro.
A celebration of life service will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel, with pastor Jimmy Whitfield and pastor Bill Rose officiating. Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with evangelist Jackie Hamm officiating.
Mrs. Forrest is survived by her husband, Ray Forrest; a son, Jeffrey David Forrest, of Goldsboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda F. and Robert E. Sweet of Dudley; and a granddaughter, Rita Gayle Sweet of Greenville.
The family will receive friends Thursday immediately following the funeral service at Shumate Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
