DUDLEY - Mr. Jimmy Leroy Pollock, 63, died Monday afternoon at his home.

Mr. Pollock was born in Wayne County on July 9, 1943 to the late Willie Leroy Pollock and Unity Mae Hill Pollock. He had retired from working in shipping and receiving at Dean Foods and had also worked for J.P. Stevens, Delano Hill Insurance Company, Goldtex, Coble Dairy and was self-employed for several years. Mr. Pollock attended Adamsville Church of God and volunteered for many years for the Wayne County Epileptic Association. He also served as a board member for the North Carolina Epileptic Association and in the North Carolina National Guard.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Adamsville Church of God with the Rev. J. Wesley Jarman officiating. Inter-ment will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Pollock is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gooding Pollock; his children, Melissa Davis of Goldsboro and Lori Carver of Lucama; and three grandchildren that he raised, Josh Davis, Chelsea Davis and Brianna Pollock. He is also survived by grandchildren, Lauren Carver, Aaron Carver, Jonathon Pollock, and Jessica Pollock; a great-great-grandchild; and his brothers and sisters, Mavis Suggs of Goldsboro, Marie Sykes of Mount Olive, Leonard Pollock of Dudley, Donald Pollock of Mount Olive and Peggy Jean Bennett of Mount Olive.

He was preceded in death by his son, Johnnie Pollock; and brothers, Roland, Ronald and Marvin Pollock.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Adamsville Church of God, 3913 McLain Street, Goldsboro, 27530.

The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service at the church and other times at 226 Fox Drive, Dudley.
