DUNN -- Evelyn Johnson Turner, 79, 3711 N.C. 55, died Monday at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Erwin First Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Goretzka officiating. Burial will be in the Turner Family Cemetery.
She was a longtime member of Erwin First Baptist Church and was a past teacher of the Beginner's Sunday school class.
She was the daughter of the late Watus Murray Johnson and Bessie Smith Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Claxton Turner of the home; three sons, Donald R. Turner of Dunn, Dennis and wife, Sue Turner, of Mount Olive, and Scott Turner of Raleigh; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Wenberg of Wilson; two sisters, Eva Baham and Margaret West of Sunset Beach, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Price Funeral Home in Erwin. At other times they will be at the home.
