Died Sept. 25, 2006
RAMSEUR -- Helen P. Spivey, 88, 609 Oliver St., died Monday at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing in Asheboro.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ramseur. Burial will be in Sunset Knoll Cemetery with Dr. Charles Fleshman and the Rev. Justus McKeel officiating.
She was a Moore County native, retired from Burlington Industries and a member of First Baptist Church of Ramseur.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore C. Spivey, and a son, Derrel C. Spivey.
She is survived by her sons, Noel G. and wife, Bobbie Spivey, of Florence, S.C., the Rev. Kenneth and wife, Rebecca Spivey, of Pikeville, Hampton "Happy" L. Spivey of Ramseur, James "Jimmy" and wife, Julia Spivey, of Asheboro, Bryan W. and wife, Vickie Spivey, of Julian, Greg D. and wife, Laura Spivey, of Walterboro, S.C., and the Rev. George D. Spivey and wife, Ruth, of Greenville, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Jewel Spivey of Ramseur; brother, Henry and wife, Edna Page, of Fayetteville; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held tonight from 7 to 9 at Loflin Funeral Home of Ramseur. At other times they will be at the home of her son, Hampton "Happy" Spivey.
