Died Sept. 18, 2006

TURKEY -- Herbert "Bud" Hodges, 72, 9460 Turkey Hwy., died Monday at Duplin General Hospital.

The funeral will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home chapel in Warsaw with Dr. Naverro Brown officiating.

He was born in Sampson County to Odell Hodges and the late Herbert Hodges Sr. He attended the Duplin County Public School System. He was a self-employed mechanic.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Herbert Hodges II of Philadelphia, Pa.; a daughter, Odell E. Hodges of Beulaville; three brothers, Johnnie Hodges of Turkey, Leory Hodges of New York, N.Y., and Bennie G. Hodges of Kenansville; a sister, Thelma Kinney of Fayetteville; and two grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home chapel of Warsaw. The family will assemble at the home of his mother, 9460 Turkey Hwy., Friday at 2:30 p.m. in preparation for the funeral.

Rhodes Funeral Home is serving the family.
