OSCAR V. WIGGS SR.

Oscar Vernon Wiggs Sr., 89, of Selma, died Friday.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Crocker Cemetery near Pine Level with the Rev. Chad Allen officiating.
Born in Johnston County April 23, 1917, he was the son of the late Thomas Oscar and Bessie Davis Wiggs. His wife was the late Mamie Harper Wiggs.
Mr. Wiggs owned and operated Wiggs Supermarket in Selma for many years and was a member of Selma Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Oscar Vernon Wiggs Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Butner; daughters Kay Ludviksson and husband, Omar, of Iceland, Verna Jo Ellis of Mt. Holly and Betsy Mozingo of Rosewood; seven grandchildren, Brian Ellis and wife, Beckie, Thomas Wiggs and wife, Sylvia, Jeffrey Wiggs and wife, Angela, Amanda Gayle Mozingo, Kari Ann Mozingo, Lisa Anne Omarsdottir and Ari Bent Omarsson; and three great-grandchildren, Peyton Ellis, Rylee Ellis and Nathan Wiggs.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma from 3 to 4:15 p.m., just prior to the service.
