Frederick Douglas "Meat" Pleasant, 62, of Goldsboro died Sept. 7 at his home on West Grantham Street.

The Pittsburgh native was born Aug. 10, 1944, the son of the late Walter and Rachel Glover Pleasant.

He attended Norwayne High School and was employed by Drutan Leather Co., Bekin Van Lines, Bill Howell Con-struction as a cement finisher and Frederick's Music.

He is survived by his sister, Louise Pleasant Smith of Fremont; and a brother, Walter Pleasant Jr. of Dayton.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at McIntrye Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Harry Battle officiating. Burial will follow in Hooks Grove Church Cemetery in Pikeville.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. to receive visitors at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries.
