Alexander Pettiway, 82, of Kenly died Sept. 6 at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Singletary Pettiway, of the home.
Other survivors, in addition to his wife, include one daughter, Debbie Pettiway Whitley of Kenly; two sons, Alexander Reginald Pettiway Jr. of Raleigh and Darren Jerome Pettiway of the home; one sister, Josephine Pettiway of Selma; three grandchildren; and an aunt.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Selma.
Burial will be in Selma Memorial Garden.
Wake will be 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at Walter Sanders Funeral Home chapel.
