Mildred Mitchell Holt, 79, of Goldsboro, died Monday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday morning at 10 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Otto Griffin officiating.

Mrs. Holt was the widow of Wilbert Oscar Holt Jr. and the daughter of the late Media Ora Greene and John Thomas Moore Jr.

She is survived by four sons, Jackie Franklin Mitchell of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Johnny Lee Mitchell and wife, Jackie, of Goldsboro, Jimmy Wilbert Mitchell and wife, Marilan, of Mount Olive, and Wilbert Oscar Holt III and wife, Brenda, of Jacksonville; three daughters, Jessie Mae Adams and husband, Don, of Vanceboro, Sandra Holt Yelverton and husband, Jimmy, of Stantonsburg, and Christine Sousa and boyfriend, Jon, of Goldsboro; two brothers, John Thomas "J T" Moore and Paul Moore both of Black Creek; one sister, Norma Jean Pope of Kenly; and 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter. Patricia Mitchell; a sister, Margaret Pilkington; and great-grandson, Tyler Mitchell Suggs.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Ill., 60601-7633; or to the Parkinson Disease Foundation Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 96268, Washington D.C., 20090-6268.

The family will receive friends today from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Brandy Mitchell at 108 Tinderwood Drive, Goldsboro.
