Mable Fisher Moore, 85, mother of the Rev. Odell Moore of Goldsboro, died Sunday.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Trent River Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church Headquarters Building in Georgetown with the Rev. Johnnie Smith and the Rev. Odell Moore officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery in Maysville.

Mrs. Moore had been a member of White Oak Missionary Baptist Church for 72 years, where she served as a member of the Mother Board, sang in the Senior Choir and taught a Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Moore, and her parents, Alfred Fisher and Lessie Jones McCarter.

Surviving, in addition to Rev. Moore are seven other sons, Matthew Moore of Greenville, Milton Moore and Jimmy Moore of Jacksonville, James Ray Moore of Brooklyn, N.Y., the Rev. Levy Moore of Pollocksville, and Richard Moore and Kenneth Moore of Baton Rouge, La; four daughters, Lottie Harrell of Pollocksville, Helen Elliott of Decatur, Ga., Christine Taylor of Virginia Beach, Va., and Clarenda McKnight of Clinton, Md.; two brothers, Clifton S. McCarter of Maysville and Johnnie McCarter of New Carrollton, Md.; five sisters, Thelma Willoughby of Greenville, Estella Burge and Lillie Mae Ollison of Pollocksville, Doris Freeman of Maysville and Doretha Poole of Jacksonville; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The viewing hours will be from 6 until 7 on Friday evening at Morgan Funeral Home in Jacksonville and at the church during the hour prior to the funeral. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence at 1054 U.S. 17, Pollocksville.
