PINK HILL -- A funeral service for Lawrence "Larry" H. Dobson, 62, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Matthews A.M.E. Zion Church. The Rev. Janice Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Boney Cemetery.
A former Duplin County resident, Mr. Dobson lived in Brooklyn, N.Y. He died last Thursday at Long Island College Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father, Octavious Dobson, and is survived by his mother, Gertie Judge Dobson of Kenansville; two daughters, Pamelia Dobson of Jersey City, N.J., and Vivica Montgomery of Bronx, N.Y.; one son, Bruce Dobson of Atlanta, Ga.; six sisters, Daisy L. Benjamin and Mildred R. Dobson of Bronx, N.Y., Sudie Dobson of Kansas City, Mo., Wanda Williams and Ann Whitfield of Pink Hill and Gwendolyn Williams of Raleigh; three brothers, Clyde O. Dobson of Albuquerque, N.M., Melvin A. Dobson of Kenansville and Charles H. Dobson of Bronx, N.Y.; and one grandchild.
The viewing hours will be from 4 until 6 today at Garris Funeral Home in Mount Olive, and at the church during the hour prior to the service on Thursday.
