GARTON E. TAYLOR
Died July 4, 2006
Garton E. Taylor, 83, of Ashland, Va., died Tuesday.
He was a World War II veteran and a lifetime member of the American Ordinance Association. He retired in 1982 as a chemical engineer with Hercules, Inc., with 42 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary S. Taylor, and is survived by their children, Judith T. Wade, Bruce Taylor and David G. Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Gladys Bell Taylor.
In addition to his three children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, he is survived by his wife, Barbara T. Taylor, and her children and grandchildren, and one brother, Paul Taylor of Newark, Del.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mechanicsville, Va., and the funeral will be held there on Saturday morning at 10.
Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home of Goldsboro is serving the family locally.
