KINSTON -- Joanne Potter Spence, 60, of 2127 Banks School Road, died Wednesday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11 in the chapel of Garner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Norman Davis officiating. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Spence was a retired seamstress and a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Mary Gates Potter.
She is survived by her husband, Billy R. Spence of the home; sons, J. Kevin Spence of Kinston and Chris Spence of the home; sisters, Linda Potter Smith of Deep Run and Betty Potter Brown of Kinston; brothers, Lionel Potter of LaGrange and Clarence Potter of Kinston; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at the funeral home, and other times at 2860 Sybil Drive.
