COLONIAL HEIGHTS--Daisy Newell Deans, 71, of Colonial Heights, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday.
Mrs. Deans was a native of Goldsboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wesley Deans Sr., and a son, Leonard "Speedy" Deans. She is survived by her daughter, Melony "Rose" Taylor; sons, Robert E. "Bobby" Deans Sr., Dennis W. Deans and Robert W. "Skeeter" Deans; special caregiver, Angela Scantick; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morrissett Funeral Home at 6500 Iron Bridge Road, Richmond, Va.
Her funeral service was to be held at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be in Dale Memorial Park in Chesterfield, Va.
