GRACE EDWARDS

GREENVILLE -- Grace Johnson Edwards, 89, of 2575 W. Fifth St., died Monday at Greenfield Place.

A graveside service was held today at 11:30 at Grandview Memorial Park in Clinton. The Rev. Richard Parson officiated.

Mrs. Edwards was a native of Sampson County. She was the daughter of the late Dallie Johnson and Avaniel Green Johnson and was the widow of Clarence Oliver "C.O." Edwards. She was a member of Arlington Boulevard Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Robert O. Edwards of Greenville; four brothers, Milton "Pete" Johnson of Goldsboro, Denzel Ray Johnson of Raleigh and Marshall Johnson of Clinton; four sisters, Helen Kessel of Kendalville, Ind., Edna Moss of Highland Springs, Va., Justine Lee of Grantham, and Mary Dixie Ginn of Zuni, Va.; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may b made to East Carolina University Annual Fund, University Mail Service, East Carolina University, Greenville, N.C., 27848-9817.
