A service to celebrate the life of David Elmo Foy, 51, was held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church. The Rev. Jimmy Whitfield and the Rev. Bill Rose officiated at the service, which included military honors.

Mr. Foy died while working as a facilities maintenance officer for the United States State Department in Karachi, Pakistan. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and was a recipient of the Navy Achievement Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Foy; four daughters, Suzette Hartwell, Cherish Foy, Chandra Jackson and Tamara Foy; his siblings, Jimmy, Dorothy and Pinkie; and two grandchildren.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American National Red Cross, 600 N. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

Seymour Funeral Home served the family.
