The funeral for Russell Fate Daughtry, 77, will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Herring and the Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Daughtry died Wednesday.

A Halifax County native, he was the son of the late Soloman and Alice Southland Daughtry and husband of the late Edna Lee Daughtry. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Troy Daughtry and Dennis Daughtry, and is survived by his other children and their spouses, Russell Wayne and Nancy T. Daughtry of Grantham, Debra and Steve Young of Grantham, Michael and Sophronia Daughtry of Goldsboro and Larry Daughtry of the home; another daughter-in-law, Betty Daughtry of Princeton; three brothers, Jesse Daughtry of Mount Olive, Henry Daughtry of Greensboro and Rudolph Daughtry of Portsmouth, Oregon; special friends, Goldia Jones of Goldsboro and Richard Hinson of Goldsboro; and 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Family members will greet friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times will be at the residence at 1222 Saulston Road.
