WARSAW -- Alden "Al" Wallace, 72, of 129 Kings Court Drive, died Thursday at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Wilmington.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Warsaw, where he was a member, with the Rev. David Franklin officiating. Interment will be in the Devotional Gardens in Warsaw.
Mr. Wallace was a Duplin County native and was the son of the late Preston and Dorothy Williams Wallace. He attended Duplin County Public Schools, served in the U.S. Army, and was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Wallace of the home; two sons, Alden Darnell Wallace of Washington, D.C., and Cameron E. Wallace of Warsaw; two sisters, Doris Wallace of Warsaw and Rojean Wallace of Philadelphia, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
The viewing will be held Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home in Warsaw and the procession will assemble there one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
