MELVIN WOODARD

Melvin Leo Woodard, 74, of 2710 Langston Drive, Apt. 415, died Wednesday.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rev. Doug Seymour will officiate. Burial will be in Princeton Cemetery.

Mr. Woodard was the son of the late William David and Estelle Wilkins Woodard.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Hyman Woodard of Goldsboro; one daughter, Debbie Woodard Overby of Goldsboro; three sons, Melvin Leo Woodard Jr. and Jimmy Ray Woodard of Tennessee and Joseph William Woodard of Arizona; four brothers, Layton Woodard of Cary, Elwood Woodard of Roanoke Rapids, Leamon Woodard of Goldsboro and Harold Woodard of Princeton; four sisters, Jessie Parnell, Essie Smith and Ann Giddings of Goldsboro and Linda Shaver of Apex; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home.

Although flowers are welcome, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Blended Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church of Pikeville.
