TARBORO -- Sophia Thompson Collier, formerly of Lucama, died Sunday.

A graveside service was to be held today at 2 p.m. in White Oak Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Bill Cotton officiating.

Mrs. Collier was preceded in death by her husband, Asa Lee Collier, and is survived by a daughter, Brenda Barnes of Wilson; one son, David Collier of Tarboro; three sisters, Marie Thompson of Goldsboro, Beadie Louise "Bea" Thompson of Pikeville and Katie Bell Edelen of Milton Fla.; four brothers, Joseph Herbert "Joe" Thompson of Four Oaks, Kenneth Worles Thompson of Naples Fla., Leonard "Donzie" Thompson of Hope Mills and Linwood Earl "Honeyman" Thompson of Winterville ,Ga.; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Monday night at Joyner's Funeral Home, and at other times 5157 Ernest Road
