REV. BRUCE SAMPSON

WARSAW -- The funeral for Rev. Bruce Sampson, 53, will be held today at 1 p.m. at the KEMBA Headquarters. with Rev. Charles Corbett and Rev. W.S. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Martin Cemetery.
Rev. Sampson died Monday at his residence in Raleigh.
He was the son of Betty Sampson and the late Sylvester Sampson. He attended the Duplin County Public School System and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served as assistant pastor at St. Peter A.M.E. Church, Warsaw, St. John A.M.E. Church, Raleigh and Mt. Sinai A.M.E. Church, Pittsboro.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Denise Samspon of the home; two daughters, Tanga Kelley of Knightdale and Gemina Hartsfield of Raleigh; one sister, Betty Green of Warsaw; one brother, Rev. Carson Sampson of Brooklyn, N.Y., and six grandchildren.
Garris Funeral Home is serving the family.
