BELINDA LANE

PIKEVILLE -- Belinda Carol Lane, age 40, of 101 Pony Drive, reached her final resting place on Monday at Duke University Medical Center.

Through God's grace and answered prayers, she was given the gift of life when she received her heart in May 2002. She was very grateful for this second chance to go on living. She enjoyed life and made the most of every moment. She had a smile that would light up a room and was known to make a lasting impression. She held two precious treasures of her heart with her sons, William Duffy Lane, III (Trey) and Matthew Stephen Lane, both whom she loved dearly. She was a member of Now Faith Church.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Howell Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Jeff Toler will officiate. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.

In addition to her two sons, she is survived by both of her parents, Victor and Sadie Holland of Pikeville; one sister, Vicki Bowers of Goldsboro; one brother, Victor Holland, Jr. and wife, Tiffany, of Goldsboro. She was a very special "Aunt B" to two nephews, Taylor and Chase Bowers and one niece, Makenzie Bowers all of Goldsboro; she is also survived by a special brother-in-law, Dwane Bowers of Goldsboro. She was also loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Belinda was the granddaughter of the late Sam and Alma Holland and Andrew and Vida Johnson.

She was blessed and known by many but would like to make special mention of two very close friends, Renee Eason and Miranda Kersey and two life long friends, Robin Sutton and Duff Lane.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Now Faith Church, 296 Buck Swamp Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27530 or to the educational fund for Trey and Matthew Lane, c/o BB&T, P.O. Box 8, Fremont, North Carolina 27830.

The family will receive friends tonight (Thursday) from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the home of her parents, Victor and Sadie Holland, 101 Pony Drive in Pikeville.

Condolences to the Lane family may be sent via e-mail to howellfh@earthlink.net.
