DUNN -- Charles David Denning, 84, brother of Mary Lou Park of Goldsboro, died Tuesday at his residence after a brief illness.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Joe Norris officiating. Burial will be in the Lee-Johnson Cemetery.
Mr. Denning was a native of Johnston County and was the son of the late Malcom F. and Mary Catherine Johnson Denning. He was a retired farmer and heavy construction operator. He was a member and past master of Mill Creek #125 AF&AM Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Wilmington and Sudan Shriners in New Bern.
In addition to his sister, he is survived by his wife, Marie Bryan Denning; two sons, David Denning of Wilmington and Bryan Denning of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home.
