Hattie Pearsall Baker, wife of the late Reverend D.E. Baker, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. John AME Zion Church, where she was a lifelong member. Pastor Jerry Parker will officiate. The committal will be at St. John AME Zion Cemetery.

In addition to a host of friends and relatives, she leaves to cherish her memories five sons, Dennis E. Baker of Goldsboro, Carland Y. Baker of Long Beach, Miss., William R. Baker of Charleston, S.C., James G. Baker of Seattle, Wash., and Ronald Lee Baker of Goldsboro; one daughter, Shirlene Baker of Goldsboro; and 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The viewing will be from 2 until 7 p.m. on Saturday at Lightner Funeral Home. The family will be present to receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Friends are welcome at other times at 306 Miller Avenue in Goldsboro.
