CLINTON -- Joyce Hood Landes 65, of 807 Raleigh Road, died Thursday at her home.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Ron Cava officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.
Born in 1940 in Wayne County, Mrs. Landes was the daughter of the late William Clifton and Marshy Bass Hood. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Southern Wayne Business and Professional Women's Club. She retired as executive director of Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce remained an honorary member.
She is survived by her husband; Carl Landes, one daughter, Frances Hatcher Gay of Clayton; one son, Frank Clifton Herring of Springfield, Va.; two stepdaughters, Nann A. Hatcher of Mount Olive and Pattie Drue Banas of Oak Lawn, Ill.; one stepson; Richard Landes of Clinton, and two grandchildren and two step- grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Royal-Hall Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 408 College St., Clinton, N.C., 28328.
