The funeral for Lida Ruth Carlyle Hardison, 86, was held Saturday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home. The Rev. Percy Cunningham conducted the service. Interment will be today at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Hardison died Thursday at her home at 3676 Pauls Path Road, LaGrange.
She was born in Lenoir County to the late Henry C. Carlyle and Eva Grady Carlyle. She was wife of the late Marvin A. Hardison Sr. and was preceded in death by a son, Marvin A. Hardison Jr., three sisters, Dolly Bradshaw, Cleo Dunn and Bruce Rouse; and a brother, William "Bill" Carlyle.
Mrs. Hardison was the former owner and operator of Hardison's Store.
She is survived by a son, James Preston Hardison, and his wife, Patricia Ann Hardison; a daughter-in-law, Rachel Gray Hardison; six grandchildren, Vickie Howell and husband Gary, Becky Hatcher and husband Mike, James Preston Hardison Jr. and wife Sherri, Deborah Hardison, William P. Hardison, Donna Jalaine Davis and husband James; and twelve great-grandchildren, Heather Howell, Briana Howell, Brittany Hardison, Andrew Hardison, Preston Peele, Clayton Peele, Joshua Hardison, Jeremy Hardison, Jonathan Inthalansy, Jamie Inthalansy, Alex Hardison and Tyler Hardison; and four great-great-grandchildren, Preston, Jacob, Kayla and Dakota Peele.
Rouse Funeral Home is serving the family.
